Matt is a Canadian who loves bears and the great outdoors. He's also an advertising major who picked up a Chinese minor to fill in some spare time. It's all about variety.
Beth LindorfBeth is a senior at BYU, graduating this April. Her enthusiasm for social entrepreneurship has grown from her entrepreneurial background and extensive world travels. She passionately believes in the principle that 'where much is given, much is required.' Outside of school, work, and her time with Vittana, Beth loves hitting the slopes, SCUBA diving, curling up with a good book, or catching an episode of her favorite show.
In 9th grade Graceann’s love for Humanitarian service was sparked when the tsunami devastated Indonesia. She hated feeling so helpless and like she couldn't make a difference in the world. We adopted a school in Sri Lanka, by organizing fundraisers finding donors we were able to help them rebuild. Her perspective on life totally changed. She didn’t feel like the little 9th grader that she was; she realized that she had made a difference for someone else in the world. Since then Graceann has been involved with numerous non-profit organization such as; Mothers Without Boarders, Rotoract, United Way, and Koins for Kenya. In her spare time (which she has none of) Graceann enjoys traveling, running in the rain, spending time with her 7 little brothers and sisters, and laughing.
Saeko YamashitaSaeko Yamashita is from the northern island of Japan, Hokkaido. (and loves to eat seafood!) She is currently enrolled in the MPA program with an emphasis in nonprofit management and finance & management analysis. She is passionate about social entrepreneurship and its growth, especially in her country of Japan. One of her biggest ambition is to start a new social venture to help immigrants and refugees gain educational opportunities in Japan. Her hobbies are playing kendo (meaning "way of sword,” which is a Japanese sword fighting sport) and speaking Spanish. Most importantly, she loves to meet people, form new friendships, and explore their diverse differences.
Garrett JacksonOut of the rainy lands of Adna, Washington, Garrett is a Senior majoring in Communications Advertising and a minor in Sociology. During his two year mission to Peru, he saw the impact that poverty had on the lives of people from the hillsides of Lima to the riverside of Iquitos. This is what's fueled his desire to help with humanitarian aid and social entrepreneurship. Garrett loves reading, finding obscure artists, spacing out, water sports, hiking, and chilling.
